JOIN THE FBG FAMILY!

One of the basic understandings among Baptists, and many other denominations, is that at some point a true and faithful follower of Jesus Christ will unite with a local body of believers of like faith and practice.  We call it “joining the church” or “becoming a member.”

Want to Know More?

A person can become a member of FBG when he or she:

Has made a personal profession of faith in Jesus Christ for salvation.

Has been baptized by immersion as a testimony of his or her salvation.

We anticipate someone who wants to become a member will:

Agree with our basic beliefs

Participate in believer's baptism by immersion if they've not already

Attend Discover FBG to learn about the church (an optional series of classes designed to get you plugged into FBG).

You can initiate a membership conversation in one of these ways:

Meet a pastor who will be waiting near the altar at the end of a service.

Contact the church office at 512.869.2586 and ask to speak with a pastor about membership.

Our desire is for every member at FBG to be able to say:

In response to God’s love for me, I commit to
Joyfully seek ways to bless the church through serving in some capacity (Psalm 130:4; Galatians 5:13). Consistently be active in ongoing discipleship opportunities and worship (Romans 12:1–2;  Hebrews 10:24–25).

Intentionally invest in a smaller community to live life alongside within the church body (Matthew 18:20;  Acts 2:42).

Wholeheartedly agree with and submit to the authority of the Bible and FBG’s understanding of the Bible as listed in our basic beliefs on the website (2 Timothy 3:16–17).

Pray for and faithfully submit to the leaders at FBG as leaders who must give an account for their leadership (Hebrews 13:17–18).

Enthusiastically and consistently share the gospel in the spheres of influence where God has placed me (Matthew 28:18–20; Jeremiah 20:9).

Generously take the initiative to care for the needs of other members (Galatians 5:13).

Faithfully be a steward of the resources God has given through regularly, cheerfully and generously giving to Christ at FBG (2 Corinthians 9:6–8; Acts 4:32).

Humbly and compassionately warn and encourage each other as we recognize someone is drifting toward disobedience (Matthew 18:15–17; Psalm 141:5; Proverbs 25:12).

Mutually submit to each other as members of the body of Christ seeking unity (Colossians 3:14–16;  Psalm 133:1).
