JOIN THE FBG FAMILY!

One of the basic understandings among Baptists, and many other denominations, is that at some point a true and faithful follower of Jesus Christ will unite with a local body of believers of like faith and practice.  We call it “joining the church” or “becoming a member.”

Our desire is for every member at FBG to be able to say:
In response to God’s love for me, I commit to
Joyfully seek ways to bless the church through serving in some capacity (Psalm 130:4; Galatians 5:13). Consistently be active in ongoing discipleship opportunities and worship (Romans 12:1–2;  Hebrews 10:24–25).

Intentionally invest in a smaller community to live life alongside within the church body (Matthew 18:20;  Acts 2:42).

Wholeheartedly agree with and submit to the authority of the Bible and FBG’s understanding of the Bible as listed in our basic beliefs on the website (2 Timothy 3:16–17).

Pray for and faithfully submit to the leaders at FBG as leaders who must give an account for their leadership (Hebrews 13:17–18).

Enthusiastically and consistently share the gospel in the spheres of influence where God has placed me (Matthew 28:18–20; Jeremiah 20:9).

Generously take the initiative to care for the needs of other members (Galatians 5:13).

Faithfully be a steward of the resources God has given through regularly, cheerfully and generously giving to Christ at FBG (2 Corinthians 9:6–8; Acts 4:32).

Humbly and compassionately warn and encourage each other as we recognize someone is drifting toward disobedience (Matthew 18:15–17; Psalm 141:5; Proverbs 25:12).

Mutually submit to each other as members of the body of Christ seeking unity (Colossians 3:14–16;  Psalm 133:1).
